NYFW – The Lowdown

September 19, 2011

Well, what an eventful trip! I knew that New York Fashion Week would be a big step for Phioro. But when I decided to take that leap of faith and throw everything I had into it, I had no idea what I was headed for! Here is a sneak preview into last week’s antics.

September 8th – Fashion Night Out

This was a beautiful event held in outlets across the city, from Bloomingdale’s department store, to Alexander McQueen’s exclusive boutique in the Meatpacking District. I decided to head down to that area, as all the luxury shops are there such as Stella McCartney, Matthew Williamson, Hugo Boss etc…

The whole street was transformed into one big block party of socialites, shoppers and business people alike, drinking cocktails and indulging their desire for the latest fashions whilst networking like nobody’s business. Fashion stores had celebrities hosting their events with DJs blaring and champagne on tap – sound like your kind of thing?!

To get more of an idea of this kind of event check out these skinnies:

September 10th – Phioro Event

A stunning display of Phioro’s latest collections was held in a private suite at Sofitel Hotel, at 45 West 44th Street, adjacent to The Harvard Club and New York Yacht Club the location, just off Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue was a prime target for our clientele.

Phioro‘s stunning jewellery collection Venus, Liana, and Azalea were exhibited alongside other exclusive, handmade collections from the likes of 59 Bond Street shoes, Gaetano Perrone, Teya Jewellery, and many more exclusive brands through Italian Style guru Raluca Pitulan. The event was attended by the most elite clientele, from New York city and internationally, including Zander Bleck an upcoming pop star who is hitting the US by storm, and has recently been touring with Lady Gaga.

Throughout the rest of New York Fashion week I attended shows such as:

Custo Barcelona – A psychedelic display of colour, 3D patterns and layered, textured fabrics

Michael Kors – A Safari inspired collection – more info here:

Douglas Hannant – An absolutely stunning collection inspired by 1930s Geisha culture. Wow! I would love to wear any number of those pieces – there are no words for their beauty! Check the skinny here:

I also had the pleasure of meeting:

Miss Jay from America’s Next Top Model

Luke Destin – Oprah’s stylist

Alexa Winner – An up-and-coming stylist to elite socialites and celebrities

Alexa used Phioro Jewellery when she styled one of her clients for the Daphne Guiness event at F.I.T. – Yaz Hernandez can be seen here on French Vogue online wearing Phioro’s Venus earrings in Topaz and 18ct White Gold:
